Davone Twist
Featuring uniquely twisted side panels, a newly designed cross-over, and Danish designed drivers, the new Twist-R offers optimised 2-way performance tailored for discerning listeners. Its moderate size and elegant design make it a seamless addition to various home decor styles.
As standard, the Twist comes as a passive stereo pair with a fixed grille. But for a versatile and modern audio experience, it can be upgraded with WiSA or WiFi wireless connectivity. Also, the front can be customised with upholstery fabric of your choosing, providing beautiful texture and contrasts, unknown to the audio industry.

Driver Quality
All loudspeakers may look alike for the untrained eye. But to reduce cost, usually chassis are made from plastic, the magnet and voice coil are too small and the magnetic motor will be from simple, unoptimized geometry, to name a few. Now let's take a look at the woofer that is used in the Twist that has been optimized for quality instead of cost: (1) The magnetic structure is optimised using advanced Finite Element Analysis software. The result is a magnetic field with a better than 95% symmetry within the voice coil travel range of +/-12 mm. Compared to traditional designs, the harmonic distortion is greatly reduced, especially at higher loudness levels. (2) Large magnet structure with 39 mm heavy-duty fiber glass vented voice coil for better control, power handling, dynamic performance and low-level details. (3) Copper cap on center pole to reduce voice coil inductance and to minimize variations in voice coil inductance as a function of voice coil position.(4) Cone made of a paper/glass fiber mix with improved stability. (5) Rigid die cast alu chassis with extensive venting for lower air flow speed reducing audible distortion.

the Making of
Our loudspeaker cabinet material of choice is Scandinavian bend plywood. This video shows the steps involved in going from raw material to useable bended wood parts for the Twist baffle, but the principle is the same for all our bend wood panels. First a special glue, vital for the superior damping properties, is applied to the individual layers. Then they are stacked and inserted into the mould. The mould is closed carefully to ensure the layers do not break during bending. Then about 100 tonnes of pressure and heat are applied for about 3-5 minutes. The heat cures the glue and the high pressure pushes the heated glue into the wood layers for perfect adhesion. After cooling, the wood will now maintain this shape indefinitely. Then all the desired details are cut into the part a large 5 axes CNC machine. -

Colours and materials
The Twist is available with fixed grille, or without grille. The fixed grille colour options are listed below. Without the grille, the front can be customised with almost any upholstery fabric of your choosing. Upholstery fabric offers a rich choice of thread colours and texture because it does not have to be sound transparent. But having many options also makes it difficult to choose. Therefore, below we list a small selection from the Danish Kvadrat Metric series we know suit the Twist very well.

Crystal clear sound
